Secure communicationYour real number stays protectedOnly people you approve
Only the people you approve.
Asto Shield is for secure communication. It keeps your real number protected and makes sure only people you’ve added and approved in the app can reach you. Great for dating, or any other time you need secure communication: someone you met online, a buyer for something you’re selling, a new acquaintance.

Stop handing out your real number.
A date, a buyer, a new client: once someone has your number, it’s theirs to keep. Here is what changes when you give them your Asto Shield number instead.
Your real numberWith Asto Shield
Once you’ve given it out, you can’t take it back.
They get your Asto Shield number. Neither of you ever sees the other’s real number.
Anyone who has it can text and call you, and pass it on.
Only people you’ve added and approved get through. A number you haven’t added gets one short notice, and nothing after.
Someone you’d rather not hear from keeps finding a way to reach you.
Remove them from their card, and they can no longer reach you. Your history with them is kept.
If something goes wrong, your texts are scattered across your phone.
Every text and call with each person is in one place, and you can hand your records to police through a private link.
Add a person in the app with their name and number. Asto Shield shows you which Asto Shield number to give them. You show it to them on your screen; they save it under your name and text it first.
Their first text gets one reply with a link that explains the service and asks them to agree. Nothing reaches you until they do.
Asto Shield never texts anyone first. Adding someone sends them nothing.
Several numbers, such as work and personal, can go under one person.
Approved people only
Everyone else is turned away.
A number you haven’t added gets one short notice and nothing after: its texts and calls never reach you. Remove someone from their card at any time, and they can no longer reach you. Your history with them is kept.
A card for each person: their numbers, where you met, your notes, a photo, and the dates they were added and joined.
Change a number on their card whenever it changes.
See at a glance who’s approved and who hasn’t joined yet.
Texts and calls
Text and call, all in one app.
Once they’ve joined, you text and call each other in the app through your Asto Shield number. Texts, photos and calls with each person stay together in one place.
On Premium, calls are recorded after a spoken announcement. Calls on the free plan are not recorded.
Each person’s card shows the texts and minutes they have left.
On the web
On your computer, too.
Members can sign in on the web with a code texted to their phone. See your people, add one and see the number to show them, approve or remove someone, read and answer texts, look through your calls and listen to Premium recordings, and make the link for police. Calls are made and answered in the app.
If you choose, Send to police makes a private link you give the officer, for everyone or for one person. The files stay on Asto Shield’s server: they never pass through your phone. Each file has a SHA-256 fingerprint and a signed Asto Shield records statement, and every download is logged.
On the free plan, the link holds your texts, dated.
Premium adds the call log, recordings, notes, photos and the full case file.

Free
Up to 10 people at a time.
Premium, $19.99 a month. No limit on people. A shared pool of 500 texts and 200 minutes a month covers them, calls are recorded, and your records include the call log and recordings.
They pay for their own texts. Unless your Premium pool or a pack you bought covers them, they pay by card before they can reach you: $5 for 100 texts and 30 minutes, or $10 for 200 texts and 60 minutes. Each pack lasts 30 days, and you can buy the same packs for them.
Keep your number, $2.99 a month. Keeps your Shield number through a month when nobody buys a pack.
Why packs. Every text and call goes over the phone network, and the network charges Asto Shield for each one. That’s why texts and minutes come in packs instead of unlimited. Included texts and minutes are to US numbers. Every pack and plan is final sale.
No. Asto Shield is for secure communication. Dating is one example. So is selling something online, a new client or customer, a contractor, a roommate search, or a group you just joined.
